RE: It's hard to say what may make it and what won't- every tax has it's related itserent group. I think we may see the mortgage deduction reduced to $300-500K. Do $1M+ home buyers really need a deduction? But I have no doubt taxes will be going up- we have to pay that itserent on the debt one way or another.I'm in favor of a flat tax, say 5% of the first $50K and 20% everything over that with no deductions. I think it's important that everyone pay something, if only to keep them itserented in how the money is being spent, and give them some skin in the game.
